Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-04-22 · App: Hearing Helper — Voice Boost (iOS)

Hearing Helper is built around a simple promise: what you hear stays on your iPhone. This policy explains exactly what that means in practice.

Short version

What the app accesses on your device

Microphone (required)

Hearing Helper uses your iPhone's microphone to capture nearby sound and play a processed version through your headphones in real time. iOS will ask for your permission before the microphone is ever used.

Local settings (UserDefaults)

The app stores small preference values on your device only:

These values never leave your device. Deleting the app removes them.

Audio session metadata

iOS tells the app which audio output is currently in use (e.g., AirPods, Beats, wired headphones) so the app can show a "headphones connected" indicator. We do not log this information; it is read on demand from AVAudioSession.

Purchases

Hearing Helper offers a single one-time unlock for $9.99 (price may vary by region). The transaction is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit 2.

For refund inquiries, use Apple's standard process via your App Store purchase history.

What we do not do

The app contains zero third-party SDKs.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Security

Because the app does not transmit audio or personal information off your device, there is no server we operate that could be breached. Your hearing, your voices, your conversations stay with you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes that expand what data the app accesses will be communicated through an in-app notice before they take effect.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the user's country of residence to the extent permitted. Disputes related to the App Store purchase itself are governed by Apple's standard EULA.
